About the lab

The Joffe Lab, led by Dr. Max Joffe at the University of Pittsburgh, focuses on identifying and validating new drug targets for treating alcohol use disorders, mood disorders, and other diseases. The lab leverages advanced neuroscience techniques such as whole-cell patch-clamp electrophysiology, optogenetics, in vivo biosensor-based imaging, and rodent behavioral techniques to investigate the role of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in regulating prefrontal cortex circuits and synaptic plasticity.
